The cost of upgrading or changing vehicles is expensive. You present vehicle should be kept until you need to buy
a newer vehicle.
If you are single and nobody depends on you then your present vehicle should be sufficient. Sleeping in a red
hot sports car may be uncomfortable but you can do it.
If you have a significant other who has a vehicle choose which vehicle is best for sleeping in and make that your primary
emergency vehicle.
If you have a significant other and children then you should have a minivan as your primary emergency vehicle.
If you own a station wagon or a car then you should keep it and live in the cramped quarters.
Up grade to a minivan only if you decide you really need to or if your station wagon or car needs to be traded for a
newer model. Otherwise keep your present vehicle.
The advantage to a minivan, station wagon or car is that you can drive these vehicles away from trouble without leaving
the vehicle. If you own a truck and camper keep it but remember that you may have to exit the camper in order to enter
the truck's cab to drive away from trouble. While you are outside of the camper and until you get into the cab you are
in danger from the trouble maker.
If trouble begins to develop leave the situation. Don't leave the safety of your vehicle to deal with the trouble.
Crack the driver's window about an inch and talk to the trouble maker. If he does not listen to reason then leave.
Don't argue back, just leave.
People who are in an emergency situation do not act normal. If you argue with them and they have a weapon they
may use it.
In a recent incident in my town a couple from out of town could not find the address so they were going slow. A
driver behind them was impatient so they pulled over to let him pass.
The impatient driver stopped his car and blocked the out of town car from leaving, then he got out of his car.
The out of town driver got out to talk to the impatient driver. The impatient driver stabbed the out of town driver
to death.
Had the out of town driver stayed in his car he would be alive today.
