In the letter written by the director/minister "Tell the truth about homosexuality" (June 12), he states that there
is no such thing as a gay teen and it is not a predisposed, genetically caused condition. I self-identified as a
female at two and fell in love with my uncle's fiancee at seven. In the intervening half-century neither situation has changed.
In elementary school, encircled by a dozen taunting boys, two attacked simultaneously, front and back. Both were
successfully fought off and I broke from the circle. How will this minister or other authority figure react when
confronted bya future member of my community seeking protection from physical or other forms of abuse? Will they condemn
the child for their "choice of lifestyle" or give them the same protection that is given to the children of your
community? Sheila L Richardson Bellingham
