There are two initiatives circulating in the state. Both have the same objective: the elimination of special rights for minorities.
Both allege that they are not discriminatory. However Initiative 166 seeks to eliminate "special rights"
for people whose sexual orientation is different from their own, but it allows special rights for other groups. To
allow special rights for some, but not for all minorities is discriminatory. The second initiative 172 seeks to eliminate
special rights for all minorities, including sexual orientation. It also provides protection against discrimination for all
minorities. If you believe, as I do, that special rights should be eliminated in a non-discriminatory manner, then
you should decline to sign Initiative 166 and sign Initiative 172. Sheila L Richardson Bellingham WA
