God chose to give women the gift of procreation. There is no greater joy than when a loving couple brings a new life into
this world. She and her partner now face life together as parents with the challenge of preparing their child for
the future. Procreation is the greatest gift that God could bestow on her. For many women, the scene depicted above
does not exist. Many are underage, living in poverty or have severe health problems. Her loving partner has vanished or
is abusive. She may not have made a conscious decision to become pregnant. Alone and frightened, her choices are
simple. Keep the child, adopt the child out or get an abortion. If she keeps the child her own life will be diminished,
she will live in poverty and seek government handouts to sustain herself and her child. If she adopts her child out
she will lose control of her progeny. The adoptive parents may be abusive or uncaring. If she choses abortion she
must live with the fact that she ended the life that was growing and developing within her. Pregnancy, parenting,
adoption and abortion are all biological decisions that should be her choice and her choice alone. Sheila L Richardson
