Dear Editor: The Dynamic Duo, Bellingham Mayor Mark Asmundson and Whatcom County Executive Pete Kremen, helped launch
the Mount Baker Theatre's annual subscription drive during the Academy Awards "A Night of Stars" (March 24 Herald).
Other events at the theatre include the annual Christmas Eve Concert presented by the First Congregational Church
and hosted by Tom Hunter. It was a magical evening where local performers were able to showcase their talents before a live
audience. The theatre reduced its rates and the proceeds went to the food bank. It was a coming together of our
communities in a Christian tradition that bonded us together in a mosaic of diversity. All were welcome and nobody was excluded.
We were treated to a children's chorus, an instrumental ensemble and audience participation, including an unforgettable
rendition of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". The Mount Baker Theatre is the jewel of our community and its
management and the "Stars" group has launched its annual subscription drive. We have upgraded the benefits at every
level. Please review the benefits package, and being consistent with your financial situation, consider joining at
a level you are comfortavble with. If you are a subscriber, consider upgrading your subscription. Sheila L Richardson
