Mount Baker Theatre a Passageway to the Future

Bellingham recently welcomed Harry Belafonte to the Mount Baker Theatre.

Mr Belafonte entertained us with singing, dancing and comedy. He received a standing ovation for his performance and earned an endearing place in our hearts. His accomplishments and contributions to our society do not end on the stage.

He is an ambassador of good will for our country. He works through UNICEF and other agencies to upgrade the living conditions and civil rights of all people, not just those of the United States and his ancestral homeland.

He interupted his performance to praise our community for preserving and restoring the Mount Baker Theatre. He emphasized the need for our community to maintain the architecture and beauty of this building.

Please join with me in supporting the continued preservation and restoration of this cultural edifice from our past, so that our community may find a common bond while using this theatre as a passageway to our future.
